Quincy HEET Volunteers have been helping our neighbors make their homes more energy efficient with our Weatherization Barn-raising events. Quincy Housing Authority has just approved our next Barn-raising to be at THREE affordable housing units at Snug Harbor in Germantown! We plan on working on our first building this weekend...and... All we need is you! Before you get all bogged down in holiday shopping, we hope you will consider taking an afternoon to help some neighbors stay warm this winter. Please join us Sunday, December 11th, 12:30pm - 4:30pm and help spread a little cheer this Holiday season. Quincy HEET Team Leaders will show you how to perform the tasks. No experience is needed to participate. We are looking for 10 volunteers. Come and learn some 'How To' tips on Sunday for your own home. We'll be: * creating seals for (uninsulated) attic hatches * securing window sashes to lock tight * installing 'tyzall' removeable window shields * window glazing * installing programmable thermostats As always, we will celebrate our day's work with a delicious home-cooked meal when we're done. The experience is sure to bring you more than your share of the Christmas spirit, and will definitely benefit the residents for many years to come. Just email (pkeville@gmail.com) and you're in! You'll be glad you did!
